Shia LaBeouf “Embarrassed” by Antigay Slur
Posted by admin on June 10th, 2008 |
A slap across the face from a friend isn’t the only thing that left Shia LaBeouf red.
A rep for the Indiana Jones star says he’s “embarrassed” by a YouTube video that made its way around the Internet yesterday and earlier today. The clip, which has been pulled by YouTube, shows LaBeouf participating in a sophomoric slapping contest with a friend during what appears to be a boozy house party.
LaBeouf successfully provoked his pal to whack him by calling him a “faggot.”
“The video tape that is currently being circulated is several years old and captures Shia playing a game amongst friends in which he uses a derogatory word towards a friend,” LaBeouf’s rep tells me exclusively. “He regrets having used the word in any capacity and is very embarrassed that this footage is being seen by anyone.”

i don’t think he meant it like that. just cuz he said faggot, doesn’t mean he has something against gay people. and people are putting that way and taking out of proportion. and plus, he’s obviously drunk, he didn’t know what he was doing or saying.
i still love you shia! =]

I agree. The people who are condemning him for this need to grow up. How many times have they used that very same word? And how many degrading words have they spoken in general? They’re not perfect! They need to get off of their soap boxes before someone knocks them off.

Also, the article makes it sound like all Shia did was call his friend a “f*****.” They leave out the fact that he also called his friend a “b****.”
Funny, how they’re willing to overlook the “B” word and yet panic over the “F” word.

That word is also another meaning for cigarette in the UK. Homosexuality doesn’t exist so why should it matter in the first place? Although it’s wrong to call others those names, it’s kind of bad but I still like Shia nonetheless. I mean seriously, people who are doing this to him probably watch the stupid show South Park. I used to like that show but then I realized it wasn’t good for me.
But hey, to each their own.

I hate how everyone wants to blow what he say out of proportion. In the comfort of your own home and with your friends whom you don’t have to explain yourself to, you should be allowed to say whatever you want. People call their friends worse in a joking matter but that doesn’t make them racist or homophobic, it’s just a word but now and days America is so PC that we’ll get rilled up over anything.
I just feel bad for Shia that the video even surfaced.
