Transformers star Shia LaBeouf has claimed there’s more than meets the eye to the sequel of the action smash hit.
Though pre-production on the robot movie had been delayed by the Hollywood writers’ strike, director Michael Bay said recently he had conceived a story outline and with the end of industrial action in Tinseltown, scriptwriting can now begin.
And according to LaBeouf, the breathless set pieces of the first film in the franchise will pale in comparison to what Armageddon helmer Bay has planned for the follow-up.

Tracking Down Shia LaBeouf on the Set of Eagle Eye

“I don’t know how much room there is for kissy-kissy bullshit when you are about to die!” - Shia LaBeouf
Shia LaBeouf is quickly becoming the go-to guy for tentpole action flicks. He just keeps stuffing his resume with one iconic megapic after the next. Even from his early days, the kid knew how to pick a good sci-fi blockbuster from the meager projects his peers were working on. While he made a name for himself in smaller films such as Disney’s Holes and the Project Greenlight film The Battle of Shaker Heights, he also managed to squeeze himself into such high profile genre projects as I, Robot and “Constantine” playing the smart mouthed sidekick to both Will Smith and Keanu Reeves respectively.

LaBeouf on Indy 4, Transformers 2 & Y: The Last Man

On Friday, ComingSoon.net got to hang out on the set of Paramount Pictures’ upcoming thriller Eagle Eye, which stars Shia LaBeouf, and while we’re excited about his latest project, we of course had to ask a few Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Transformers 2 questions:
ComingSoon.net: It sounds like you might work with director D.J. Caruso for a third time on “Y: The Last Man”?
Shia LaBeouf: Yeah, we’ve been talking about it. “Y: The Last Man” is cool. I don’t know when I would do that though or how I would fit it in. It would be kind of ridiculous to keep doing the same deal over and over. “Y: The Last Man” is kind of similar to some things. We’re both huge fans of that comic book.

Labeouf turns to A.A. to kick booze
Posted by admin on January 16th, 2008 | Comments (5)
Actor SHIA LaBEOUF is attending Alcoholics Anonymous classes in a bid to kick booze. The Indiana Jones star vowed to overcome his drink demons after he was charged by police for refusing to leave a Chicago, Illinois, drugstore while drunk last year (07). The charges were later dropped. A source tells American tabloid the National Enquirer, “Shia decided to make good use of his time off during the writers strike by dedicating 60 days to getting his two-month sobriety chip. “He’s been spending time at A.A. talking with people, drinking coffee and learning the twelve steps.” LaBeouf was brought up by a hippie mother and drug dealer father, who he frequently attended A.A. classes with as a child.

The Coolest Movies of 2008—Before I See Them

3. Eagle Eye: Disturbia director D.J. Caruso reteams with boy wonder Shia LaBeouf, along with Billy Bob Thornton, Rosario Dawson, Michelle Monaghan and my good friend Anthony Mackie. The story centers on a terrorist cell planning a political assassination attempt, kind of a modern Manchurian Candidate meets WarGames. I’m excited to see Shia in a movie like this. Disturbia surprised a lot of people, and it was the perfect setup for Transformers. I hope this is the perfect follow-up for Indy 4.
