Shia Takes Cover As Things Heat Up on Set

The LA set of Transformers experienced some real-life action yesterday when an accidental fire broke out in a house where Shia LaBeouf had been filming. The cast and crew stood out on the lawn while the fire department took care of the blaze, and Shia even took refuge underneath his shirt. Shia may be becoming a big-time action star, but he was probably content to leave yesterday’s drama to trained professionals.

Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci talk Shia

CS: This is your second movie writing for Shia, so were you able to tailor the dialogue more to what he could do as a character or did you want him to do something different than he has in other movies?
Kurtzman: Yeah, certainly we had a great experience with him on “Transformers” and his voice is very very specific. It actually helped us quite a bit in conceiving his character in “Eagle Eye” and that in turn helped us in the conceiving of his character in “Transformers 2″ so we’re now on Movie #3 with Shia, so I think more than any other actor out there, we have his voice in our heads.

‘Transformers 2′ Fell Into Princeton Filming
Posted by admin on June 28th, 2008 | Comments (4)
On Tuesday, June 24, film crew shooting for “Transformers” sequel, “Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen”, has been spotted on the campus of Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. And, with that comes a bunch of new on-the-set videos and pictures showing what happens during the shooting there.
One of the videos which can be seen below exposed the action film’s star Shia LaBeouf when he is filming a scene for the sequel as well as goofing around to kill the time. In several different footages, the young actor can be seen acting as Sam Witwicky who is portrayed in the scene clutching to his books while talking on the phone. Other videos which chronicled a scene involving a Saturn Astra and a Persuit Go-Kart cruising down a street can be watched via Transformers Live Blog. Read the rest of this entry»
Transformers Sequel To Focus More On Character
Posted by admin on June 27th, 2008 | Comments (0)
It won’t just be all action and testosterone for the upcoming “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” as rewrites have been ordered to help strengthen some character scenes with star Shia LaBeouf.
That was among a number of tidbits about the Transformers sequel shared this week by Dark Horizons, a lot of it coming from LaBeouf’s costar in the movie, Megan Fox, who promises that the new film will be “10 times as big” as the first one. Read the rest of this entry»
Scoop on Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox and Transformers
Posted by admin on June 26th, 2008 | Comments (6)
I recently received the following email from the brother of my lovely co-worker, Pregnancy and Parenting producer, Allison Busacca. Allison’s brother Cameron had quite the encounter with Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox during the filming of the Transformers movie. Who was nice? Who was really rude? Get the scoop here:
After about an hour of watching the crew unload equipment, Shia LaBeouf came on set around 8 a.m. to film what appeared to be a “move-in” day scene right next to the Princeton University Chapel. After several takes, the crew moved out onto the street to shoot a few stunt scenes on Washington Street. Most of the cars looked brand new (there was no futuristic Chevy Camaro in sight, which was a bummer) but after a few takes, one of the cars had bullet holes and a smashed windshield, which led me to believe they were filming a chase scene. Shia’s stunt double nearly got hit several times by another car, and the crew shot the scene from different angles up and down Washington as if all of the shots were going to be pieced together later. And even though the stunt drivers went really fast, you could tell that they speed it up even more in the editing process. Read the rest of this entry»
